Suan graduated from the Nanyang Technnological University with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Hons) in English Language, and a Diploma in Education. Qualified to teach both Primary and Secondary students, she was in the Singapore education circle for almost ten years. She had also been involved in the professional development of teachers as a staff of Teachers Network (Ministry of Education), organising conferences and engaging teachers in Learning Circles and reflection.
Currently, she offers consultancy and training to schools and is a Local Adjunct Guide with The Greenleaf Centre for Servant-Leadership (Asia). At the same time, she manages a fishing tackle business and a gift business. Her interests include fishing and mission work.
